Brief History of The Village Hall
Erected in the late nineteenth century, the Village Hall is the heart and soul of Pannal. Originally called Oddfellows Hall, it was purchased by the village in 1920 and renamed “Pannal Memorial Hall” – in honour of all the local soldiers who fought in World War 1. Since then, this hub was the centrepiece of all major local events. From dances, parties, films, classes, clinics to even societies such as the Pannal’s Women Dramatic Society, the venue became integral with Pannal’s community. Now, still in operation and managed by volunteers, the Village Hall welcomes all who wish to participate.
